When sharing the creative vision with our design team, North Kitsap requested that the design of the newsletter include simple, intuitive graphics, a clean design, bright and optimistic colors in the NKSD color palette, and that the entire publication feel student-centered, reinforcing the district’s commitment to student success. With this in mind, our designer chose to remove or color-screen the backgrounds of photos with students to reduce the visual clutter and ensure that students took the center stage. Organic, waving lines around some photo subjects help add to that focus while bringing movement and color into the layout.
