Chief Leschi Schools Salmon Release
ClimeTime invited ESD 112’s Communications team to help tell the story of Chief Leschi Schools' salmon program. We visited Puyallup, Washington to capture students releasing salmon they raised on campus into a local creek, which flows to the Puget Sound. We also documented how the Puyallup Tribe pays respect to the salmon and the waters through song. We spoke with science and culture teachers from Chief Leschi Schools about the academic and cultural impacts these kinds of learning opportunities had on their students and got a pleasant reminder about the interconnectedness of our world along the way.
